Description

While working on panel 1, after a 2.5hr drawing session to get the facial expressions just the way I wanted it, my desktop decided to restart itself after some software update which i did not ask for without asking me if I wanted my work saved. I remember clearly the time was 3 am.

I don't remember ever swearing so damn much in such rapid succession in my entire existence up until I switched photoshop back on and opened the file to see a blank page. After calming down, I couldn't get into the same headspace to recreate the facial expressions from the lost session. I probably will never buy Windows ever again.

Now that I've got that off my chest; battle scenes coming up!

The girl with the strange eyes is using a blade/weapon I designed for this story, a Hummingblade. I didn't want another Katana like the Black/Shadow-Ops are wielding. In my original long version of this one-shot, there is a great hummingblade war. The blade generates sound as it's being used, and each blade has it's own unique sound. And so the sound of the war will be nothing short of epic.

Question:

R.J. Intended to sacrifice herself while letting Joey & Alexa try to make run for their lives (panel 1), and my question is; did that come across to you when you read it?
